Cocoa Wafer Paste contains about 300 active substances, including Phenyl, Ethylamines and Serotonin. It is the basis for the manufacture of chocolate. Native to tropical climates in South America, the cocoa tree was sacred to the Mayan and Aztec peoples. The Wafer Cocoa Paste is a magnificent food because of its content in antioxidants and other nutrients. Grown by farmers in Peru, Cocoa Paste in Wafers contains three times more antioxidants than Green Tea, more than Red Wine, Goji berries or Açai. The Cocoa beans are harvested by hand, wrapped in pods, from which the best quality are selected , they are fermented to reduce some of their original bitter taste, the Cocoa paste is obtained by pressing the ground Cocoa Nibs, until they become a paste, which melts to turn it into a juice; this juice is then molded into wafers.
